"No, you don't know what it's like when nothing feels all right. You don't know what it's like to be like me, to be hurt, to feel lost, to be left out in the dark, to be kicked when you're down, to feel like you've been pushed around, to be on the edge of breaking down and no one's there to save you.No, you don't know what it's like." - Simple Plan
Have you ever been called names. been hurt physically and mentally, been popular in a wrong way? To make this easy for you, have you ever been bullied or a bully?
I've been both.
While watching "The Lying Game" last Wedenesday a meaningful advocacy showed up, it was Chris Tiu (one of the basketball heartthrobs in the Philippines) talking about the importance of bullying prevention or standing up for people who have been bullied. This gave me an idea to speak for both sides since I've been bullied and a bully.
What is bullying? Bullying is a way to scare or harm another person and there are different kinds of this act, there's physical, verbal, cyber bullying or even just watching someone get bullied is an act of bullying. Why are there bullies? Psychological disable? They want attention? They've been bullied once in their life and they're just returning the favor. There can be many reasons.
When I was younger, a lot of people called me names such as, big fat ass, "baboy / tabatchoy" (pig), big mama, etc. I wasn't like any other kid who cries and run to their parents because I fight back, I say worst things back and if it gets worst I hurt them, physically. Growing up, I've been like this because I thought it was normal. Until yesterday I was a bully, I say bad things in my mind to people I hate. If you are a Filipino, you might know about the "AMALAYER" (Am I a Liar) scandal because it was trending worldwide last Wednesday and the other day, and yes I am one of those people who made fun of her for what she did. But once is enough, I immediately stop judging her because this bible verse made me realize something:

But once is enough, I immediately stop judging her because this bible verse made me realize something:
“If you think you can judge others, you are wrong. When you judge them, you are really judging yourself guilty, because you do the same things they do. 2 God judges those who do wrong things, and we know that his judging is right. 3 You judge those who do wrong, but you do wrong yourselves. Do you think you will be able to escape the judgment of God? 4 He has been very kind and patient, waiting for you to change, but you think nothing of his kindness. Perhaps you do not understand that God is kind to you so you will change your hearts and lives. 5 But you are stubborn and refuse to change, so you are making your own punishment even greater on the day he shows his anger. On that day everyone will see God's right judgments. 6 God will reward or punish every person for what that person has done. ." - ROMANS 2:1-6
She maybe wrong but we don't have any rights to say anything to her because God is the only one who can judge her. Whatever she's going through right now is already called "bullying". I am not here to protect her because I think she's right, I am here because I want to stop this malicious act, BULLYING has to STOP. What can we do? You can do a lot of things,If you see someone being bullied, make it stop or if you're scared to help them, ask for help. Be there for them, because they need someone who can help them gain their confidence back . Although it may not be easy, but together we can stop it.

I never got bullied nor have I ever bullied anyone. Sure I was pretty rough and tough as a kid, but I never bullied anyone per say. To me: it's such a faraway world because I don't understand how anyone can bully another person. I don't understand why people would do that to another person. Whenever I see someone "bullying" anyone I would ask them why do they do that? Does it make them feel better?
ReplyDeleteBullying is the worst. I wish kids/teens/whatever would realize bullying isn't a way to make them feel better about themselves.
Good for you, at least you've never been both. Haha, because being a bully is not a good thing, and being bullied is also the worst. I am glad someone doesnt have to go through in this mad society. <3
